Flip Up Front Sight, Taper Pin Version

At GG&G we believe in the continuing evolution of our tactical products. As an important part of our business, we are always striving to improve our product line by keeping it up to date with the current tactical philosophies and procedures. Each year we look at our product line and pick several of our long standing products and bring them current. We have manufactured the Flip Up Front Sight, Taper Pin Version for thirteen years. Approximately a year ago we re-designed and streamlined the overall appearance and updated the locking detent mechanism. The sight is still manufactured from 4140 chrome moly billet steel and finished by a mil-spec manganese phosphate process. The M16A2 square front sight post is used, which is adjustable for elevation zero. Protective ears are provided for the sight with gripping serrations to more easily raise and lower the sight assembly. The redesigned mechanical lock is a spring-loaded, positive wedge lock detent system that keeps the front sight in the up position preventing accidental lowering of the unit while maintaining on target repeatability. The locking system is designed to be operated with one hand so that the fire control hand does not need to be removed from the weapons fire control system to deploy or lower the sight.

Further, the Flip Up Front Sight, Taper Pin Version comes with a standard mil-spec 1 1/4-inch, ambidextrous sling swivel that bolts to the body of the sight. There is a provision for the easy attachment of an optional MIL-STD-1913, ambidextrous 1 1/4-inch long dovetail for mounting flashlights, LAMs and other small accessories onto the gas block base. The installation process requires removal and replacement of the taper pins that hold the A frame sight in place. Therefore your barrel or barreled upper receiver must be sent to us for installation of this product. The price includes installation of the GG&G Flip Up Front Sight, but does not include shipping.
