The new SLiC Thing (Sling And Light Combo) provides the end user with a lightweight, sturdy, versatile and inexpensive tactical light combo mount for attaching a sling on one side of the weapon and a 2 1/8-inch MIL-SPEC-1913 rail to mount accessories such as a tactical gun light, on the other side. This AR 15 tactical light mount positions the light at one o'clock, the location preferred by most experienced operators to maximize the tactical advantage during dynamic room entries. In addition, most experienced operators prefer that tactical slings be mounted on the side of the weapon, as high as possible to prevent "rifle roll". The SLiC Thing provides this important position by easily mounting onto the AR15/M16 "A-frame" front sight assembly and is fully ambidextrous.

Two models are available, the Standard SLiC Thing and the QD SLiC Thing for those needing a QD sling release. The sling swivels on both models will accommodate slings up to 1 1/4 inch wide. The QD model utilizes a sturdy 1/1/4-inch Quick Detach sling swivel included in the package. You now have the choice of either the standard 1 1/4 " QD sling swivel or the heavy duty model. Although the standard QD swivel provides great performance, the heavy duty model provides additional benefits like a larger quick detach button for an easier and quicker transition and a thicker wire diameter to provide a more robust sling attachment surface. Both QD sling swivels are bead blasted and manganeese phosphated in a non-reflective matte black mil-spec finish.

Both sling and light mount models are manufactured for rugged use out of 6061 T6 solid aluminum alloy and are Type III hard-coat anodized matte black per mil-spec. Robust and rigid, the SLiC Thing is held in place by counter pressure steel socket head cap screws.

With the addition of the GG&G one inch mounting ring as shown in the above photograph, the SLiC Thing will accommodate most of the excellent one inch diameter tactical weapon light models available today.

For those individuals that have a GG&G Sling Thing that would also like the flexibility of a mounting rail, the SLiC Thing MIL-SPEC-1913 rail can be purchased separately and can be substituted for the non-swivel side of both the Standard Sling Thing and the QD Sling Thing.
